Car boot sales
On Saturday morning the car boot sale in Singleton Hospital car park is a good place to look for incredible bargains, but you have to be up early - they start selling at 6.30 – 7.00. A good multicultural meeting place with a buzz. People sell stuff from the boot of their car.
Markets
Swansea Indoor Market, right in the centre of town on Oxford Street, is good for fish, fruit and vegetables and you can try the local specialities. In the middle of the market are lots of “cockle stalls” that sell cockles – a local seafood and "laver bread" (nothing like bread!) which is cooked seaweed. It looks a bit strange, like cooked spinach, but it’s very good for you.
Open from 8am to 5.30pm six days a week.
