The project is working with a group of English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) students in Swansea to develop additional language-learning resources that will be accessible and useful to all ESOL students.  The students, besides creating a useful resource for others, will in the process increase  their own IT skills in the areas of audio, video, and web design. They will also have a chance to develop their project management experience.

Using the internet and inexpensive mp3 players, ESOL students will work with  IT tutors & DACE’s web & graphic design team to create web-based resources. These resources will include audio files, with accompanying transcripts, to give them practice in language use. This will be an additional resource to supplement their time in an ESOL class. The web-site will include local information and act as an online resource for newcomers to Swansea. The website (http://www.swansea-arrivals.net) is currently being developed.
